The Vienna International Centre (VIC) is the campus and building complex hosting the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV). The United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) was established on 1 January 1980 as the third United Nations Headquarters after New York and Geneva (and before Nairobi). It performs representation and liaison functions with permanent missions to the United Nations (Vienna), the host Government and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations in Vienna.

The amateur radio club of the Vienna International Center was officially registered on September 7, 2015 by the Vienna International Recreation Commettee (VICREC). The ARCDXC Club (4U1A) was opened on June 2017 by active radio amateurs from the Vienna International Center (VIC) in Austria. The 1st QSO in the Log was recorded with Thor TF4M (a Life ARCDXC member) from Iceland on July 8, 2017, CW on a 20-meter band (video evidence).

The amateur radio club station of the Vienna International Centre Amateur Radio Contest DX Club (ARCDXC) 4U1A was officially opened on September 7, 2015 by the Vienna International Centre Recreation Committee (VICREC).
