472.0 – 479.0 kHz and 5351.3 – 5366.5 kHz now Permit in Austria

Thanks to the constant efforts on the part of the ÖVSV, especially by Vice President Michale Kastelic, OE1MCU, the telecommunications authority has now complied with our request and has announced the approval for the 630m band and the 60m band.

The frequency ranges 472.0 – 479.0 kHz and 5351.3 – 5366.5 kHz are in accordance with VO Funk international and acc. FNV nationally assigned to the amateur radio service on a secondary basis for use with certain performance restrictions to protect other radio services. Transmissions from the secondary radio service must not interfere with other radio services for which the frequency ranges are dedicated and are themselves not entitled to protection from interference.

Radio amateurs of license class 1 are permitted to use the frequency ranges 472.0 – 479.0 kHz and 5351.3 – 5366.5 kHz in compliance with the provisions and conditions shown in the FNV:

Frequency range: 472.0 – 479.0 kHz
Dedication of the frequency range: “secondary”
Maximum radiated power: 1 watt EIRP
Max. Bandwidth of the transmission: The provisions of the AFV are to be applied accordingly

Frequency range: 5351.3 – 5366.5 kHz
Dedication of the frequency range: “secondary”
Maximum radiated power: 15 watts EIRP
Max. Bandwidth of transmission: The provisions of the AFV are to be applied accordingly
