He was born on December 31, 1953 in Mineralnye Vody of the Stavropol Territory (USSR).
He took the soldering iron in his hands for the first time in 1965. In 1967 he conducted the first QSO on the HF from the Club station of the international pioneers (Scout) camp UB5ARTEK. In 1968 he graduated from the DOSAAF (Maritime Courses) as Morse code Op “3 Grade Level”. In 1977 he graduated from the Kharkov city (Ukraine) Institute of the Radio Electronics as telecomm engineer.
